Rip Extraordinaire
Mmh, compare this site with this one. I guess I'm going to have lots of quality time with our lawyers very soon.
Update (3/6): I was in Brussels on a meeting on the last two days without correct access to the net (before you ask, I didn't miss blogging ;-). Their site has profoundly changed over the past 48 hours so the rip off is not obvious now. Hopefully I'm not the only one who's seen it before that move.

Are you talking about more than the direct visual simularity between them? I, for instance, don't see any swiped scripts (did I miss them?). Obviously some of the graphics are identical. Were they made especially for your project? Is any of the html code so unique that they can be attributed to you? Just trying to get a grasp on what happened and how much actual theft was done.

Unless the O'Donnell site has changed, the only similarity that I can see is the teaser.gif image. Sure its wrong to copy, but I don't think this one is a case for the lawyers (MHO).
btw, how did you come across the offending site ?
François
Come on, of course I know my site better than you, but the rip off of content is really obvious :) Some excerpts:
About Us:
From the original site at http://www.cgey.com/about/
"The Group offers its local and international clients, in more than 30 countries, services in:
management and technology consulting;
systems transformation;
systems management (outsourcing);
local professional services (Sogeti)."
From the copy at http://www.odonnell.ee/eng/about.html
"ibidem". Note the reference to Sogeti, which is one of our companies. The global search & replace missed that one.
Another one, our 2002 financial results PR:
Original: http://www.cgey.com/news/2003/results2002-en.shtml
"Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Group 2002 final audited results: A better second half in a difficult year
Paris, February 27, 2003
2002 key figures
The Board of Directors of Cap Gemini S.A., which met under the Chairmanship of Serge Kampf in Paris..."
Copy: http://www.odonnell.ee/eng/news/2003/results2002-en.html
"O'Donnell Consulting Group 2002 final audited results: A better second half in a difficult year
Paris, February 27, 2003
2002 key figures
The Board of Directors of O'Donnell S.A., which met under the Chairmanship of Serge Kampf in Paris..."
As far as I know, Serge Kampf is the founder of our company and has nothing to do with that one. Compare the figures and dates, that PR is identical.
Same for the rest of the site, they copied the site structure, our client references, alliances, pretty much everything as far as I can see.

François,
Your absolutely correct, I should have paid more attention to the content.
Let the dogs loose :)

Well, they sure seem to have gutted the site in the last 24h. Now it's content is very limited. Is that a sign that you successfully contacted them and they agreed with you? Or are your lawyers just that scary?
